The Techno Cheetah

On May 13, 2009, this blog turned one!  In the past year, there were 43 blog posts and many wonderful student projects published on the Student Project Gallery page.

The blog has received hits from all over the world including 6 continents! Unfortunately, the ClustrMap on the sidebar reset on May 13, so I am unable to get a large map showing where all the hits came.  However, I was able to get this thumbnail:

Though it’s small you can still see the international audience that the blog has reached.  Students are no longer producing work for a small audience. It’s amazing how people around the world are looking at the wonderful projects students are producing at Bellows Spring.

Happy 1st Birthday Techno Cheetah!

Over the summer, Bellows Spring’s student Alayna Lightfield, organized a fundraiser for a charity close to her heart.  The fundraiser was a great success.  What really impressed me was how the family used technology (they created a blog) to promote and highlight the fundraising effort.  What a great idea!

I’m excited to introduce this blog which I hope will be an informative and entertaining resource for the Bellows Spring community. Please take a few minutes and read through the About page and the Comment Info page to learn more about the purpose of this blog and the guidelines for students who wish to make comments. I realize you might think it’s a bit late in the year to roll out something brand new like this but I want to introduce the idea of blogging this year to lay the foundation to get some of Bellows’s students blogging next school year.
