The PTA Fall Festival was a huge success this year! During the event the PTA held a raffle to win pumpkins decorated by the staff. Watch the video below to see all the creative pumpkins. A special thank you to Mrs. Fedderly for taking the pictures, Mrs. Quinn for making the video, and all the staff who helped created the pumpkins.
Many students love using Pixie 2 in technology class. Pixie 2 makes it easy for students to combine drawing, photos, audio recordings and text into video files as well as printed files with layouts such as comic books, trading cards, and greeting cards.
With support from Tech4Learning, Bellows Spring is able to offer Pixie 2 for students to use at home. Parents can purchase a home license for $35 (plus tax). This is a huge discount over the regular price of $54.95. Plus, the Bellows Spring technology department gets $10 for every license purchased! The funds our school receives will be used to enhance the educational software and hardware for teachers and students.

On May 13, 2009, this blog turned one! In the past year, there were 43 blog posts and many wonderful student projects published on the Student Project Gallery page.
The blog has received hits from all over the world including 6 continents! Unfortunately, the ClustrMap on the sidebar reset on May 13, so I am unable to get a large map showing where all the hits came. However, I was able to get this thumbnail:
Though it’s small you can still see the international audience that the blog has reached. Students are no longer producing work for a small audience. It’s amazing how people around the world are looking at the wonderful projects students are producing at Bellows Spring.

All of the 4th grade famous Marylander podcasts are now available in the Student Project Gallery.
In addition, 5th grade students recorded podcasts about the common good. These podcasts are also available for your listening pleasure.
Mrs. Beach’s 4th grade class just completed recording podcasts about famous Marylanders. You can hear them by going to the Student Project Gallery.

Third, fourth, and fifth grade students all made posters to convey the goals they’d like to see Barack Obama accomplish as our new president. All the posters were uploaded to Animoto to create class videos. Go to the Student Project Gallery and click on the appropriate links to see the videos.
Kindergarten classes worked on an activity in Pixie about the seasons. Their work is displayed using an online tool called Mixbook. Check out all the wonderful pictures the students created in the student project gallery.
